25/10/2006 Important Rulebook Update !

Subject: start grid order for Heat 2 (rule 4.C.2)

It was: "Grid as from opposite of the result of Heat 1. Winner of Heat 1 starts last etc... last one of heat 1 is polesitter for Heat 2."

It will be changed to: "The start grid for race two shall be decided on the basis of the fastest race laps in race one for classified drivers (those who completed 90% of the laps completed by the winner). Those drivers who were not classified in race one shall be allocated start grid positions based on the total number of laps they completed."

Why ?

To reflect the real life rules + to discourage drivers who are outside a point finishing spot near the end of heat 1, to intentionally drop back or retire to have a better starting position for heat 2

PDF rulebook has been updated.

03/11/2006 Rule update

Concerning fill-out of entry blanks by the team managers (Point 5 of the rulebook)

Paragraph 2, it was: "In the days leading up to a race-event, he will be contacted by the series admin to give the names of maximum two drivers that will race for his team during that event. This filled in “entry blank” will have to be returned to the admin before a given deadline. Failing to do so will result in prohibition for the whole team to take part in the event."

It becomes: "In the days leading up to a race-event, he will be contacted by the series admin to give the names of maximum two drivers that will race for his team during that event. This filled in “entry blank” will have to be returned to the admin before a given deadline. Failing to do so will result in the race-mail being sent to the default regular drivers for that team."

Why ?

To give the regular drivers still a chance to compete if their manager should forget to send the entry blanks to the admins. And also to take the administrative load off for everyone. No entry blanks received = regular drivers drive and thus will get the race-mail.

09/11/2006 Car pack update

Hey all,

Thanks to Toof for noticing that the alpha layers were missing from the window files. The car pack has been updated. In theory it should keep on working even if you don't donwload the update, but I strongly suggest you do.

So if you already downloaded the car pack (before Thursday 09/11), you can download the update here: http://www.beracing.be/downloads/BeRaci ... wpatch.rar (1.6 Mb)

If you haven't already downloaded the car pack (which is necessary to run in our testrace and championship races), you can download it here: http://www.beracing.be/downloads/BeRaci ... ophy06.rar (22.2 Mb) -> The window patch is included in the full car pack

In both cases, just drop the contents found in the RAR files in your rFactor\GameData\Vehicles\Megane folder

27/11/2006 Rulebook update

An important section has been added about Driver's Behaviour (7.e)

e) Disturbing other drivers

It is of course not allowed to deliberately disturb other drivers on track. One thing we surely cannot tolerate is the use of the horn. A horn does not belong on a racecar and I still wonder why rFactor has implemented that anyway, but that’s another discussion. So be warned: anyone who uses his horn while nearby other competitors during the race will be DQ’d from that heat. Same thing applies during qualifying. Using your horn during qualy will relegate you to the back of the grid or you’ll receive a time penalty if the infraction is discovered in the replay after the event. So I really suggest you to unmap your horn from your steering wheel and even your keyboard if you want to be really safe. Only very little toleration will be applied whenever you should use your horn. You might get away with it if you have no-one nearby, but I strongly suggest you don’t use it at all for your own good…

Second thing to be careful with is your headlights. These of course are necessary on a racecar, so rules will be a little softer here. You are allowed to use your headlights to make it clear to a car one or more laps down that you are faster and want to pass him if he doesn’t make room when he is blue flagged. Use common sense though, and don’t start flashing from the first moment you come up to him, allow him some time to choose the best moment for letting you pass.
However, it will not be allowed to flash lights to a competitor battling for position with you, or one or more laps up on you. It will be penalized the same way as with the horn.

PDF Rulebook updated too.
